I'm just all about truckers getting back to what it use to be. Everyone Stand tall with each other. Make a voice for our industry that's been passed down generations to generations. Keep what we all love to do alive and fair to each and everyone of us who choose to be in this line of work. Make it enjoyable again. Stop allowing truckers everywhere to be harassed for doing nothing more than working. And for everyone in the industry to stop being looked at as a piece of trash who is dumb and don't know anything as most people think. People make jokes about truckers because they are used to hearing truck drivers are idiots who dropped out of school and can't read and write. You know People don't pick on our "military" and cal them stupid and dumb because they are the ones who fight for us. So why would we want anyone to pick on truckers the ones who sacrifice family and friends and holidays and months on months of being away from home to keep this country alive and moving forward for very small amounts of pay and gratitude all while fighting our own war of DOT COPS and FMCSA nazis. It Makes no sense to me. Then truckers who want to work in this business and say I like to be pulled over! I like the harassment of inspections! I like to be compared to Criminals. You can bet that anyone who passes by a truck that is stopped on the roadside for inspection those people are saying hahaha look at that idiot I bet he was probably speed or trying to run someone off the road. You know we are first blame at a traffic accident!! Even if we just stopped to help and wasn't even involved. Yeah that really makes me happy to be part of that!!!! Come on brothers
72 hour blitz huh?

Remember as a CMV they can stop us anytime 24/7 so I'm not sure it harassment. I remember having my own truck and sitting out the blitz. Now as company drive no reason to stop. I'm driving a 2017 truck, disc brakes(no slack adjusters) no air leaks, no oil leaks, LED lights, ELD(no log book to worry about)
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Preach on brother, I have adjusted to all the BS the government has thrown at us. I make it work for me. I lived thru CARB bulls*#% , I installed the retrofit DPF but my rate increase. I'm going to be exempt from the elog cuz I run 98% in within 100 miles radius and I have a pre 99(94 to be exact). So like I said, I have adjusted and still do what I enjoy.
P.S. I'm done with this discussion, others can chime in. Your beating a dead horse.wore out and Just passing by Thank this. -
I'm going home for the blitz because....
1) I've been on the road for over 5 weeks.
2) I need to put my generator on the truck because its been fracken hot and I hate idling almost, but not quite, as much as I hate sweating like a pig.
3) I need to replace a pair of sticking slacks that I didn't find but the polite and professional CHP tech found at the Truckee scale.
4) Someone FINALLY came out with a projector beam headlight assembly for the Prostar that doesn't look like it should be hanging on a gold chain from a "Ballers" neck... And I have a set of them waiting install at home.
5) - 20) I CAN.
Not a reason I'm going home...
1) Being scared of an inspection or being a whiner. -
Wonder why they do the "BLITZ" ? Money, and to try to get some really crappy equipment and #### head drivers off the road. Do I like possibly wasting some of my time at one of these checks? No, of course not.
Have you looked, really looked at some of the trucks rolling down the road and seen some of the so called "professional drivers" piloting them? I have seen trucks with more duct tape and plumbers tape holding them together than rivets. Drivers that take no pride in the way they dress, talk and portray themselves to other drivers and the motoring public. The public also uses the same truck stops as we do. When they see a driver wearing pajamas, flip flops and has not showered in a week, they will notice and tell all their friends.
I started driving in 1974. Started with a tractor trailer, pulled every type of trailer. Semi retired 2 years ago, and now I have a 1 ton truck and pull a 53' trailer hauling campers and cars. Believe me, I get dot'd more now than I did pulling a tanker that was placarded 90% of the time. In 2 years I have passed every one of my inspections.
I have witnessed the downward slide of our profession. Hell, some drivers won't even stop to check on another driver or call him on the radio to see if he might need some assistance. I know, the good old days are over, it's a new world out there. I started as a company driver and for the last 20 years have been an owner operator. I still try to conduct my self as if it was the 70's.
What I'm trying to say, is we brought this type of attention on ourselves. I believe we still need to weed the bad drivers and equipment out. Kinda like one bad apple will spoil the whole basket. The government feels we are the deep pocket profession and will milk us accordingly. Are we scrutinized more than other professions ? Possibly.
Sorry for the rant, I'll throw away my soap box now. I hope everybody comes thru this "BLITZ" unscathed. -
4 thoes of who have been around a wile -- WE KNOW IT IS ALL ABOUT $$$ -- as always we will b HOME ALL WK
