Just like you said. You were correct buddy. Sometimes when the outter nut loosens, the inner barrel it gets stuck in it. Other words, the inner might loosen before the outter nut, leaving the outter nut stuck on the barrel.

I always liked this style better. You can see why.

The porkchop style works well, but you have to watch out once the nut comes loose, if you have nice polished aluminum wheels, that porkchop can spin around and scratch the hell outta your wheel.....ask me how I know.

Actually, the top picture is what I've seen... but never used. The bottom picture... if I had ever seen that, and not looked close enough, I might have just assumed it was a Dayton wheel wedge.

any of you guys plowed, and or ran single outside chains on daytons while pulling, pushing hard??
Don't miss spinning a wheel and cleaning the valve stems off!!!
Can you say two flats fully freighted in a snow bank while snowing!
We used to weld an old wheel nut to the rim, either side of the valve stem to avoid that problem!!

Latest fuel mileage 7.055 round trip. Drop this load in a few hours then head home to change the steering box, inner wheels and radiator that sprung a leak yesterday.
