I left the pumpkin. Went silent Lol. I ended up going to a small local company. Cooper Freight. Not AAA Cooper. It's a small 100 truck fleet basically. I had mentioned earlier of wanting to be with a small company with Christian values. What I'm finding out is that my Christian values don't align with most others Christian values lol. I mostly like the company. They're alright. Pay is decent. Miles are great. Home time is better. Equipment is stellar. Generally I'm home every weekend. I'm averaging 2800 miles a week. I can take my dog with me. No kids but any household adult can come with me which would really only be my wife as there's no bunk. On to what I don't like..... No detention pay till 10 hours. When I started here they were unveiling they're BRAND NEW detention program. Advertising it to be your normal program after 2 hours you get paid so much. Apparently they were flooded with detention the first month and decided to end it with the reply of "we worded it wrong" and refused to honor their original commitment. I sat for 6 hours waiting on a load. They refused to pay me. I complained as only I can and threw the saying they advertise on their website "Jesus first, customers second, co-workers next, and self last" in their face. Basically bashing them for not paying me 35 bucks while parking $100k BMW's and Mercedes in the yard. This was my first month there. Just 2 weeks ago I sat down with the owner and had it out about it as well. His stance was it was a mistake and that they consider the mileage pay to include detention. That's ridiculous to me but anyway. I honestly thought I'd be fired over it but not yet lol. At the very least see my miles decline to get me to quit but not yet. Next and really last is the dispatchers. I'm on my second one. Both are basically high school kids. Know nothing about trucking. The first was a complete moron. We got into it all the time. One time the BOL didn't have a weight of product listed so I didn't enter a weight in peoplenet (peoplenet sucks too btw). He called me up asking for the weight. I told him it wasn't listed. He said to me well how do you know your legal and not over weight. I responded that it was a van full of Styrofoam. His response was classic. "How do you know it's not filled with gold." Ummm really? So i explained to him how i can tell how the truck pulls on how heavy it is. He still didn't get it. But anyway he asked me to guess the weight. My response was it really may not be important if you're asking me to guess but I'll say 3k lbs. He insisted it had to be more and asked me to check the scales. Which is basically an estimate of the air bag pressure gauge. I tell him it's about 26psi. He says im hauling 26k lbs. No dude its no where near that heavy. Put whatever I say. He called the company. It was 3500lbs. I was 500 off. And if it were the price is right I would have won. Shortly after that, maybe a week or 2, I insisted to get another dispatcher after he insisted I deliver a load that would violate my HOS. He kept telling me it was ok to run out of hours and continue driving the extra 15 miles or so if I was going to the customer because of the "safe haven" rule. So on to the next guy. He was just hired on. I like him because he asks questions of he doesn't know the answer. I don't post anymore because honestly I don't have much time. I drive close to my 11. Or the 14. I've only been in detention 3 times in 6 months. Worked 2 weekends voluntarily. Average take home is 950ish. I chose them because of the CSA rating of 1.9%. Schneider says there's is low at what 19%? Average is close to 30% if I remember right? I drive an automatic 2016 Freightliner with an APU and a 3k watt inverter. Mpg average over 50k miles as of now is 8.4. They have all the aero dynamic stuff. We haul mostly light air conditioner type loads. If it's not AC units it's delivering the parts to make them. Like the Styrofoam I mentioned earlier and insulation. Every once in a while a broker load to get here and there. Mostly to get home on the weekends. Rarely do I enter a scale house. Mostly if it doesn't have a pre pass set up. So I just drive. And drive. It's working out but I'm getting the itch to do my own thing. Looking into lease or just outright O/O. On the side my wife and I are starting our own agent office of a broker. The company that she works for is rather large and we have a couple of contacts in the works. So i may be just getting ready to cal the road quits if it ends up getting big enough. Or I may still do the O/O thing within the brokerage to maximise profit. We'll see how it all lands. Basically just been really busy with driving, the agent office thing and we've got a house about 500 miles away that we've been having some repairs done to sell or rent. Not quite sure there either. Off time keeps me from posting. I'll try to come around here and there though. Thanks for thinking of me bro. Y'all be safe out there.

well, my experience is that anyone who spouts their "Christian Values" will screw you 10 times harder than the guy who's just trying to get it done.......jus sayin. Stealing from people in the name of the Lord has been going on since the founding of the Catholic church and it ain't got prettier.
Here's an idea, go to work for someone who you like and trust and keep your "Christian Values" to yourself. Heck, if you ask around you might find somebody in your own church who will treat you right. But for those jackazzes who put John 3:16 on their trucks and trailers.......yeah, there's a screwin' commin' and you're it.
    In my humble opinion.

I think I've had enough of this Walmart dedicated. Just tired of all the extra rules, multi-stops, and mountain roads. I honestly miss VTL, traveling different regions, running the way I want, ect.

Hey everyone I'm looking to possibly buy a truck separately and lease on to SNI either van or tanker. I've been reading a thread about the van side but I'm wondering if there are any tank yankers here leased that could give a guy some insight. Been driving for almost 12 years and am currently a road driver for OD. Looking for a chance to challenge myself and succeed at the ownership side, not just the driving side. Specifically if anyone has insight into generally average rates, freight lanes and schedule. I would be out of Atlanta. Also I have a family so I'm hoping for some advice on where to look for health insurance.
