You know, every year someone will get on here screaming the sky is falling over these blitzes. And every year someone says we should strike. And nobody does anything.
Here's a newsflash for some of you...
The sky isn't falling, the world won't end, and Caitlyn Jenner will still be himself.
The DOT is just doing what they're told to do, aka doing their job. And we're expected to do ours. That's all it is.
They're not going to be dragging the honest man out of his truck and beating him Reginald Denny style. I'm sure if you give them a reason to, they might feel so compelled to do it, but that's not what they're looking to do.
They're just trying to keep us honest. And I don't fault them for that. Just make sure you do everything as you normally should, and you'll be fine. In 17 years of driving, I've had my run-ins with them, when I was young and naive. Some drivers will never see fines in the $10000 range, but I have. I've sat along the Baltimore beltway in the August sun with no A/C, with an OOS sticker on my window. But you know what? I survived. I'm not going to sit on the curb and have a bully fit over this.
So those of you who will be staying home as a protest of some sort, have at it. The rest of us will be happy to pick up the slack. -
The blitz happens once a year.. and it's announced in advance. I don't see how it's unconstitutional or unwarranted even. I personally hate it, but I understand that there are a lot of MESSED UP carriers that need to be taken out of the picture, and hopefully the blitz will nail them.
There's a lot of things we should unite on and park our trucks in opposition of. But I definitely don't think this is one of those things.
Also.. I ALWAYS plan to be home during blitz season. -

If I didn't have good customers who the last thing they would want to hear why I am unavailable is because of some dot blitz. I probably wouldn't have those customers for very long..
JReding, wore out and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
