Well, tomorrow I'm starting CDL training/orientation here in Des Moines. Here's to a successful 3 weeks!

Question I am overweight and my neck is larger than 17 inches. neck has been that way even when i was in shape. I have a current dot physical for my current job Non cdl. never had to do a sleep study and have had to renew my card 3 times. so is Tmc's physical a Dot Physical or just Physical to make sure you can do the job.

 

Yeah, it's a full DOT physical. They will make every potential hire take a DOT physical, regardless of if they have a brand new card on them or not.

 

Any one in your class fail the physical. or was any one in your class overweight. Im not like overweight were i have problems breathing or doing things. i just have a few extra pounds. more like a prego belly

 

We had one who failed outright, but not sure what for. I weighed 270 when I did mine, but they didn't say anything, even with a 16.5 inch neck. One guy was sent home after three days of BP being over 150, another kid was sent home after they heard about his mom's pacemaker surgery, and they had him tested and found a heart murmur or something. We also had someone fail the tarp lift. Don't let the 120 pound lumber tarp scare you. Once you get it off the ground and on your shoulder, it's easy to work with. Just pay attention to your form when lighting, and try to use your legs as much as possible. It's graded by a physical therapist with their workman's comp contractor, so he can tell.
