The Pneumatic Tanker Thread

Our company has about six of them. Bought new in '11. I really liked the one I used. It unloaded very well, and never gave any issues. We also have some Heil trailers, and they work rather well. But they have higher baffles inside, and when we load lime, it makes things interesting. We are loading off suspension gauges, and sometimes the lime doesn't flow from one hopper to the next while loading. So for almost every load, you stop at a different pressure, and hope for the best.

Overall, I prefer the Stephens over the Heil. But I won't give up the MAC that I currently pull for anything

That's one thing I like about hauling plastic, nice and clean... except gravel rail yards but even that's just some dust.

 

Yea. Ive got the truck stripped down now, compound and waxxed the cab, pulled the stacks to get repainted, pollising all the alluminum. Only reason i put a driver in it was because of lack of equipment, but ive since added to the fleet so she will just sit n look pretty and ill use her a few times a week for the 500-600 miles trips when they come up.

 

My family used to haul plastics back when the company was based out of NJ/PA. Were in south florida now. And i hardly see any plastic tanks on the roads.

 

Thats the nice thing about flour too but even less dust as most everything is paved.

 

Finally ready to hit the road with my new truck, after numerous delays. Still waiting on registration to come back, so it may be a couple days yet. Which is good, I have a trailer to clean up and wheels to polish before it gets hooked up

 

Yeah, not many plastic plants in Florida. I delivered in Tampa once when I was driving for A&R. They said they rarely go down there.
