Sitting in the good ole Avanel NJ Terminal.
Just waiting for a load too Gary. These are most exciting times. Good food all about though, had an excellent shrimp Alfredo with linguini. From KCs pizza Around the corner. Even a small is too big.

Lathrop ... pick up tomorrow night, heading to the East Coast ...
-
Denver, CO.
So they pulled a fast one on me.
My home time request was set for the 5th. They sent me a load to move a trailer to the Denver terminal with the message that it was my home time load. It delivered on the 3rd, two days early.
OK, sort of fine.
Then that load assignment wasn't sent for some time, and when it arrived it came with another pplan to deliver a load from the Denver terminal to Macy's in Denver on the 5th - saying that it was my home time load.
That means I sit in Denver over the weekend to deliver a live unload at 0600 Monday morning before starting my home time.
My first impulse was to refuse the load and tell them that I would be on home time. But then I thought... I could avoid most of the Blitz if I took it and started my home time on Monday. And it would give me more time with my girls. So i took the load.
My elder daughter, Luana, could not make it today because she had to work.
But the rest of us went to see Wonder Woman.
GREAT movie! By far the best first super hero movie I have seen in a long time. Everyone was clapping at the end of it.
I'll grab my youngest daughter, Lorelei, on Monday to start her time in the truck with me. And we'll sit a couple days here doing some fun stuff on my home time.FerrissWheel, scottied67 and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -
Not Swift, say it isn't so!

After a few "SNAFUs" in the first month my new gig is coming together.
At Little America in Flagstaff, deliver a 2-stopper (Tempe & Tucson) tomorrow, Received a text as I pulled into Flag asking when I wanted to reload, I replied "Thursday". I followed up with a message asking permission to DH back to Phoenix after Tucson tomorrow which was approved.
The thing I like most is the fact I'm paid odometer miles. For my 1st two weeks I ran 5829 miles and that's what they paid me. Plus am getting paid for EVERY stop (yes, even the 2 normally "included" in the load) that doesn't start or finish in our Englewood yard.
If there's a downside they pay every two weeks and pay runs a week behind the end of the pay period. Given that my first check was over 2 1/2 times the BEST week I ran with Duncan I'll take it.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
It isn't so... but...
Then I get a pplan today that picked up at noon tomorrow and t-called in NM on the 6th, totally bypassing my home time.
I turned it down, of course.
What can you say about weekend planners?! -
I've done that Macy's load ... floor load, hand unload - takes awhile. Stand back when you open the doors and do it as close to the dock as you can get.
-
It was stacked to the top and to the doors, and it was leaning out a bit. Nothing fell out however.
Fun dock to park in. Hopefully they won't try to get someone in next to me. -
As little as possible.
-
I'm doing just fine without a weekend planner at all.
Reminds me of the time in reefer I did a furniture load and caught a loveseat. Fortunately it was made of the cheapest lightest material imaginable.
Will be in Laredo tomorrow getting a B service. Hopefully that dosent translate to Wednesday as well.
