When you pull in front on the spreader you only need to pull up far enough till your truck is straighted out and then slowly back keeping an eye on the spreader and the guy operating it.Keep your window down so you can hear the construction crew. How many dump trucks are normally working on the same job site?

I was sitting there waiting for him to give me hand signals.... He just got out of the machine during that time walked up to truckj. I always watch the mirror and keep window rolled diwn so that wasnt issue..

I think the fact that there machine broke down. They were in a rush. And the knew I was knew. And seeing me backup like that to avoid truck when I really didnt have to got me out of the seat

Hammer out the wtfs.... Lol thats a good one ill keep that in mind..

That definitley a wtf moment out of many ive had while learning this job.

It's easy to speculate from passenger seat. I would of been good backing up.... I didnt have to avoid the truck like my trainer told me... I knew I was clear...

    Probably would of saved me

You can follow the tire tracks back to the spreader. When I hauled asphalt it was a belly dump.I hauled rock and dirt in a dump truck.

I think its too dark for that, and lane is covered in tar. But I will keep it in mind hard to think of it at the moment

We back into a machine tHat loads the asphalt spreader... Thats the machine that was broken

Havent done gravel... But someone else used the truck the other day for gravel so I had to spray it down and get a loader to dump gravel and dumped it before getting loaded at plant to clean it up

Oh a belly dump. Nice. That is one thing I haven't done. Our area had a pair of quarries of stone and there was Bittenger PA for Limestone on 30. Always a belly dump running around.

We did not have to deal with 15 trucks, we were two. A tandem and a single for smaller jobs. Literally a driveway or sometimes a parking lot that takes about a month to do. Sometimes the people in Howard County have more money than brains during the rain time (Central Maryland filled with half million dollar homes in the woods) and want a side road put into their land with lots of gravel. Sometimes our single would tip onto it's gate facing the sky while trying to dump a lump that got wet and stuck together into a single mass. Grab the backhoe and pull it back down again. Thump.

    Fun times.

A month to do a parking lot? We do industrial parking lots in a day....Lol. These guys get job done fast

    Whats a belly dump?

We use triaxle, one you have to raise axle everytime you turn

We have a few live bottom trucks? Is that the same?
