Slower traffic keep right. It's a simple concept that shouldn't be too difficult to grasp. If these steering wheel holders would follow that rule instead of listening to their "driver managers" these occurrences would drop.
Heathar, LWT104 and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
I just ignore tailgaters.
The idiots that bother me are the ones who hang out in the left lane along side the trailer.Middleagedrookie, jungledrums, Heathar and 8 others Thank this. -
It is difficult for many to grasp. Reason being, someone gets it in to their head that it means if you are going slower than me, then you need to move over. Slower traffic keep right means slower than the speed limit, not slower than any jackwagon nascar wannabe.
Roughly half the States have keep right laws, so unless one is passing another vehicle, one should be in the right lane in those states, by law.bigguns, okiedokie and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Give it a wiggle and they may realize what a bad habit that is, if a blowout does not teach them the hard way.Boattlebot and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

On the interstate I normally ride 65-68. I do a lot of my driving at night and quite often the traffic is very light to extremely light. Many times there is not another vehicle anywhere close to me.
I can't tell you how many times I'll be all alone riding along in the right lane at 65-68 and see another vehicle way, way back from me that gets closer and closer (clearly going FASTER than I am) and then when they catch up to me instead of passing me at the same faster than me speed they were going they for some unknown reason pull up right behind me and ride there for miles and miles.
And frequently these masters of driving have their bright lights on so that they can clearly see the back of my trailer 30 feet in front of them. Really?
Can someone please explain this behavior to me? Is there some sort.of tractor beam that sucks these people up to the back of my trailer? So.e sort of impenetrable force field that prevents them from changing lanes and Sony maintaining the same appears they were going and pass me?
I usually wait until I/we pass the next exit. When they are still tjere, and they usually are, I drop 5mph from my speed. They rarely pass. I go at least 2 miles at the new speed then drop another 5mph for w miles and keep this pattern going until they eventually pass.
As I said, very few pass after reduction #1 (60mph). Some after 2 (55). Most by #3 (50). The record is 40 mph befoe he finally passed me and even then it took him almost the entire 2 miles allowed! Remember each speed is held for 2 miles before slowing to the next. That 40 mph was after almost 12 miles!
Now before anybody starts jumping my case for going 40 on the interstate let me state clearly that we were the only 2 vehicles on the road at the time.
Sometimes when they get like that and refuse to pass I have to wonder what is going on? Are they attempting to hijack me? Wait until I pull off the highway, follow me and rob me? I mean really, why would anybody on a lonely strip of interstate not just maintain their original speed and roll on passed? And why not go around a slowing vehicle, especially after literally miles of going slow and then slower and slower?
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how do you handle it?Last edited: Jun 7, 2017

I don't brake check, I avoid collisions with furry little animals that are on the roadway.

Yep. The guy in the truck rode the left lane (of 3 lanes) under the speed limit for around 5 miles, and the idiot in the car tailgated him the whole time while cars would occasionally pass in the middle lane. It was on a stretch of I-70 west of Columbus where there are several miles between exits. Him riding the middle lane would have been annoying, but at least it would have been somewhat acceptable. This was totally uncalled for.JimmyWells Thanks this.

I have to get the footage downloaded off of my camera, but I might not have time to do it until the weekend. I will try and post it eventually. It is definitely on my all-time highlight reel.
G13Tomcat Thanks this.
