I pay for the whole kit and caboodle.... while expensive it has landed me a lot of good brokers/customers.... takes a while to find the good ones....once you do you'll find a lot of their stuff doesn't get posted.... It is a cost of doing business.

With the U.S side added it will somewhere around $550, thats without the rate index and stuff. Is there a lot more freight with the U.S added?

I couldn't tell ya, I've had the luxury package since day 1.
575 + hst. Expensive....necessary. Don't buy the extra crap they try to sell you on like being able to login on your phone for another $50/mo. You just want the contacts and to see who has what posted.

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if its okay to drilling some holes in the floor of a dry van? I have a load of mini buses and they need to nail the wheels so it does not move. What is recommended to close the holes later and I will try to ask them to use load bars/straps to secure instead. Lets see.

If they are too large for a car carrier they are probably supposed to go on a deck of some sort. Things on wheels they need to be well secured...over a certain weight probably must have chains. Load bars and straps won't cut it. If it decides to move it will go right through your trailer walls ....

    Dye Guardian Thanks this.

Blocks of wood shaped like a wheel chock nailed to the floor. Shipped like this every day.

So the other day we took a load down to PA directly instead of going from Montreal. We got a hot load out of Midland Ontario and then CHR load back to Toronto. CHR load was 44000lbs and we made a wrong turn due to GPS which took us to a not-so-freindly-for-trucks road up the hills. Everything else went smooth and we make about $2.75CAD on all miles.

Now, when we crossed into U.S we did not pay any border crossing fee (Fort Erie) but crossing back into Canada, we had to pay $37. I was wondering, why is this so much and any way to reduce it? We had 44000 lbs coming back into U.S, and took I79 down to New Kensington.

    Thanks

That is the bridge toll. You pay coming into Canada and free to go into USA at fort erie/buffalo same deal up at queenston/Lewiston. Unavoidable. Can get a discount if you use ezpass. Don't know how much the discount is, for me it is more of a time saver and no more screwing around with lots of scraps of paper receipts. Easy.
The toll is by axle count, not weight.
