11 western should keep you just as busy as OTR.
11/3 won't hurt you much, you can always leave earlier if you want. But having 3 full days off every other week will keep you from getting burned out.
Pretty good about hometime, but as always ask to be home a day before you actually need to be there. If it is very important, they will rent you a car.
Automatics are only on the new trucks, so that's between you and your DBL.
Some new trucks have inverters, most do not. If your trying to run a gaming rig you'll need to idle the engine.
I doubt Schneider can offer you home every other day. Put in your 6months to a year, and other opportunities will be available with other companies.
If I had an inverter, microwave hands down. You can cook quite a few different things, and the foil liners are disposable(easy to clean).

 

As for a mini fridge, that's pretty much a "no" until you run for a company with an APU.

But I mainly only used it for drinks and condiments. I used a small cooler for meat and cheese and just bought a small bag of ice every other day.

 

When you find out that you can't have a gaming rig or real food because a fat guy in Wisconsin needs a bigger bonus

 

SNI has a lot of fanboys that are drunk on the orange koolaid but they are nothing special. I'll never go back. They spew "safety first and always" but then set up their trucks to where you can't run the air conditioning when it's below a certain temperature, and you're in the back sweating and not able to sleep. I ate so many ham sandwiches out of that stupid 12 volt cooler that I probably have colon cancer. The pay does not make up for the sacrifices.

Did you drive at all after getting your CDL? You could try Interstate. They want 3 months experience. Lots of freight on the west coast. I walked by one of their company trucks a few weeks ago and he had an APU running, you may want to confirm that all of their trucks have them.

When you want to go local, look into LTL or pulling containers.

 

Put in 6 months and switch over to local Intermodal. You'll be home every day and make a lot more money than running OTR.

 

I can honestly say I'm going to feel bad when I quit at the end of this month. I've driven for Swift and Knight in the past and Schneider is the best from my perspective.
