I appreciate the humor and all (and believe me, I've had my share of such fantasies), but if you truly want people to get hurt or killed due to being bad drivers--and especially if you'd like to help them to that fate--you don't belong in this business. After all, half of the people in four-wheelers who drive like that are our friends and family members.
I doubt anyone who wants to inflict justice on those people would be very happy if a fellow trucker put their wife or kid in the ditch. The bottom line is that we are held to a higher standard and should act like professionals out there.
Have a good week, y'all.okiedokie, kemosabi49, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I must be driving on Mars? A majority of the 4 wheelers I'm around in the south, would see me dead if they could.
A big truck is just something to cut off,and immediately brake check in traffic.I have nothing but disgust
for a majority of todays drivers.Texting, talking, and you as a driver are intruding on theyre world?
For every bad truck driver you see, theirs 100 times that in a 4 wheeler .
You witnessed 2 low class drivers, but I don't feel bad for the Nascar wanna be driver drafting a big truck.
Maybe he should have kept a safer following distance?Big truck shouldn't have been there, but douche baggery happens
Dharok, okiedokie and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Your right. We are held to a higher standard.
We should be setting the example for others to follow.
That means
1. No tailgating. Keep a safe three to four seconds behind that vehicle in front of you. Something happens, then you have a safe out.
2. Proper use of signals. That means your signals stay on until you are fully back in the lane. This quick flip of the signals doesn't let anybody know what your intentions are.
3. No short passing. You shouldn't be pulling back into a lane when passing another vehicle, until you can see the whole vehicle in your mirror. Passing as soon as your trailer clears the other truck puts both of you at a greater risk if for some unknown reason, you have to suddenly hit your breaks or change your direction.
4. Cleaning up after yourself when you use the facilities at truck stops and rest areas. Your momma don't work there and you are not the only one that has to use the facilities.
5. Be presentable in public. Granted were truck drivers and we get dirty when we load or unload, but seriously, wearing the same clothes 3 or 4 days in a row, not taking showers on a regular basis, living like slobs in your trucks, throwing your garbage and urine bottles on the ground. I mean come on.
6. Start acting with a little dignity and start showing a little curteousy towards shippers, receivers and others you meet while on the road.Dharok and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Too many cameras to brake check people. Just put the jake on, no lights to tell them you're slowing down, plus no reason for them to get mad, after all you didn't brake check them right?
Dharok Thanks this. -
What miffs me is these rude dudes are putting your license in a possible accident. Even if it's a no fault it still goes on your license. You can't fix stupid. But a Train horn might.
Dharok, OPUS 7 and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
The only thing dumber than someone who brake checks a Tailgater is a Tailgater knowing that there are idiots out there who brake check Tailgaters.
Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
Maybe drunk.

Au' contraire' to all that higher standard baloney.....
We're all subject to higher standards; from Trucks to four wheelers. Even to them goldanged bicyclists wearing all that bright and shiny techno garb that are constantly on the roadside and veering out into traffic, and then expecting me to share it with them.
I am a truck driver, I will remain a truck driver, and I am absolutely, positively, going to give them tailgaters a good shellakin.
I consider it my patriotic duty as an American; kind of a Gawd, Guns, and, well, Guts sorta thing.
I might even be so unfortunate as to kinda' have a little mishap with a....cyclist.
If a certain elected 'official' can drain the swamp of politicians, then why can't I drain the highways of road hogs?
And by the way; my wife, kids and family members don't tailgate; that Golden Rule thing runs deep in these here parts.
"Do unto others...."
Amen to that.Last edited: Jun 13, 2017

So...tailgaters are bad, but brake checkers who put people in the ditch are patriotic, God-fearing Americans?
Alrighty then.OPUS 7 Thanks this.
