I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a SC 5 car trailer as i haul mostly full size trucks and SUVs. Upgrading from my dually and 3 car SC. Since i'm set on the type of trailer, what truck would you guys recommend to pull that trailer. The driver will be mostly OTR and be working in the southwest with occasional runs in the mountains. I'm leaning more to the Freightliner side but what min Horsepower, engine and wheelbase should i look for? Again, thanks for the info guys.

If you only plan on pulling a 5 car then a single axle is the way to go. If you think you might upgrade trailers in the future then go with a regular tractor. As far as what kind, you looking at new, slightly used, or older pre emissions?
Hulld and strollinruss Thank this. -
Single axle will do better on fuelCar hauler2015 Thanks this.

I'm planning on getting a 2010-2014 tandem just in case I wanna get an upgrade in the future. Would I be able to get away with a Cascadia 113 with a DD13 engine or should I just go with a DD15 even though I wouldn't be maxing it out at 80,000lbs? I also found found a low mile Volvo DD13 455hp I can get for really great price, but I don't know much about Volvos.

I'm 24 years old and have decided to jump into the business. (no experience at all) I just took this decision since I would like to work for myself and not for a company. I have my CDL learner's permit and i'm schedule for the driving on June 28. Last week I bought my F-350 and I'm expecting to receive my two car hauler trailer on/or before June 23. My parents had advised to to get experience first but I just didn't listen. Right now, I received a call from an owner/operator that one of my friends knows. He has offered me to train me for 6 months. I would be working for him and pay me cash while I get my CDL. After I receive my CDL he would be paying me with a check.
My question is, well my parents lol
How would I protect myself against bad people that will put drugs in the vehicle you're driving? -
