Hello all just wanted to some opinions. So I got a job as a yard jockey with CCC (Comcar) at a coco cola plant and I'll be home everyday and off on weekends. I think this is a great opportunity because wel one I need a job ASAP and two I can move to a local driving experience without having to be with a trainer for weeks on as long as I'm there for 6 months and just an extensive road test perhaps. Just wanted on your thoughts about this process or if any of you did this. It keeps me away from the Megas and having to go OTR and works perfect for me I think since I'm in the reserves. What are your thoughts? It's 12 hour shifts and 800 a week pay check. I check almost every carrier I can think of and they simply just not hiring drivers out of Florida.

    G13Tomcat and pattyj Thank this.

Its 12 hours 5 days a week for a total of 60 hours correct and you NET $800? What type of benefits does the job come with? You will get more than enough backing practice which is good. If it works perfect for you and your happy then at the end of the day that's all that matters...

Chinatown I have no idea what happened with them. I'm assuming they went with someone else. I haven't heard from them and can't get a phone call returned. I cant just sit around waiting on one company ya know.

Those hours are correct and the pay should be that of not could be gross which I'm ok with that too. When I was OTR I was working 12 hour days and bringing that less so I'm cool with that. The benefits well I really don't know about that. I don't ever ask for the benefits because I have health benefits from the Army. You can't beat the Army benefits. But I'm sure they have all that stuff but I have all that established with the Army. But they have a do'es for joes progam which I guess is like the tuition reimbursement which is up to $6000 and I can withdraw my gi bill benefits which will be an additional 1500 a month. So not bad in my eyes

Not bad. You will get used to back quickly. Each place is different. At my place we have to get out of the truck to open the doors etc.

We are in our slow season, so we work about 3 hours total, and sit for 5, but get paid for 8.
