Stop the trucks for two weeks, then they will realize.

A whole lot of truck stop counter rumor.
Yes UPS did put in for an exemption, but not to not use the ELD. They want a few clarifications and a time exemption. 1. They want more time to install the ELDs. 2 and 3. They want to have a new status called "Yard Move" so as not to use drive time and to allow non-driver to move the truck As per the FMCSA guidance, yard work is On-Duty Driving, not simply On-Duty. 4. Lastly something about how when one logs out it records location, which would be a union contract violation somehow.
They have not been approved, or rejected yet.

You can read about it here . UPS seeks exemption from certain ELD mandate provisions

There should not be any exemptions for anyone at all.
What's good for one is good for all.
If a certain rule just dosent work or make sense then change the rule for everyone not just a select few.

I'm sorry for you sir... Yeah... government ruins everything... :angry2: Trucking has been changing quite a lot very quickly in the last few years... with all the new technology... It will never be the same in the near future...

I wonder when mechanics, dock workers, and all those other jobs are gonna fight the government when they finally have time clocks to punch just like us.
    Haha
