I am wrapping up my first full week with Malone. With the load I am getting tomorrow, I will have cleared in one week after fuel and all deductions what I would net in a month working behind the desk.
    This is too easy.

You've got to take payments and maintenance out of that too. Plus taxes. I'm glad you are happy! Congrats

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Believe me I know, not my first rodeo. My overhead is extremely low and I don't haul the heavy cheap garbage that most like to peddle.

I refuse to pull anything less than $1.78/mi to the truck. It just isn't worth my time.

    PhilKenSebben and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Finally got two weeks under my belt with crst and first full week of settlements. I also made more than twice as much as tanker driver at my previous job. Is South Texas a notoriously low pay freight area? I don't pick my loads per se and was wondering if you had insight?

It can be, just have to be selective of where you run there.

I tried to pick my own freight and the agent won't allow me to with their trailer. So I'm looking to lease my own.

Yea I can always switch off their board but I'm going to give them some time to see if they have less freight then advertised.

Huh? Won't allow you to pick freight with a Malone trailer? That's not right. Must be more to the story.
