Wvery company either said they not hiring out of my area or I didn't have enough experience. But it's fine I got a job now that is local and home every day and off on weekends. I didn't mind not coming home every weekend. I didn't need to be home every weekend. I just needed to be home for my drill weekend which is once a month. I would have stayed out three weeks if they needed me too but hey not my loss. There's a lot of good drivers from central Florida and downwards but no one can ever be hired which is why I believe local companies at least here should start taking on qualified students or have some type of training program. When you are this far down in Florida you gotta take what you can get which most likely will be a mega carrier and not too many people want to do that. So it's either stay stuck with no job or relocate and I can't wait to move out of Florida. Trucking sucks in Florida and it's too #### hot lol

In a perfect world this is true. However it has been my experience drivers don't do this like they should. When I was driving and looking for an empty most of the time I had to go by the fuel pump at the terminal and get fuel. remember we are talking about steering wheel holders not Professional drivers!

If you bring a reefer into places where security checks the tanks and the reefers (Coke does this) and the trailer is dirty and/or the tanks are low they will reject the trailer and send you back. To get from the yard to the Docks at Coke you WILL BE going past this security point.

My point is that yard drivers wont have to do it. If a refer comes into my place and has less than a half a tank. We down it and call the company and make them come get the trailer, fill it and bring it back, or it doesnt stay on the lot.

Thanks for the info I will keep an eye out

And my point was in this case the OP will be going through an inspection at the main gate at Coke and if the trailer is dirty or has blood in it and/or the tank is low they will reject it. My comment was directed to the OPs situation because I have been on that yard and know what a CF it is. Now honestly I can't remember if CCC uses trailers with reefers. It is possible to haul cola's in a regular dry van. I have done it many many times.

There is not a single employer, corperate, company, individual, any level of governmental etc that will refuse you your weekend drill when the military cuts you orders to go. You are going. And you will have your job waiting when you get back.

I know that. I just wanted to be home weekly to give me more of a comfort room to get home for drill. People do miss drill and it all depends on the unit that person is in on what happens. Mine in particular do not play that and you will be at drill. So being on the road just didn't give me that safe zone I wanted.
