I just delivered here this morning and the dock supervisor was telling me that August 1 the plant is closing. Everyone is either getting laid off, or getting transfers to other plants. I feel for them because many of the folks have been here for nearly 30 years or more.

Hey Gunner I used to work there, I put in 16 years in that plant and got laid off back in Oct. 08 when the ethafoam plant closed. I loaded 1000's of flatbeds in my early years and than went into styrofoam production where I spent rest of my time there. There's a guy still there that I know last name Jenkins, you might know who he is. As far as I know the Amsty plant isn't closing since Dow no longer owns that plant.
cke Thanks this. -
