If your tanks are pitted-stone chips-etc polishing them will make then look worse. I just da'd mine with wet sand paper.

Think I gave Martin Farms in Mi. $700 and a couple wheels with the round holes for the original Peterbilt wheels in the above photo. I was happy

If you go to all the trouble of polishing your wheels, grill and tanks, don't forget to give your stick and knob a good rigorous polishing. I don't know anyone who doesn't appreciate a thoroughly polished stick and knob. Heck, I know I do! If you don't have time or are just too tired from a long days work to do it yourself, there are plenty of folks willing to do it for you. I hear them all the time on the CB. Never quite figured out why they always want until dark though. Maybe they have day jobs?

I am getting older and more lazy. Painted fuel tanks and durabrite Alcoa wheels. When the finish dies on those, will just put something like those aerodynamic wheel covers on them. I am strictly a chrome, stainless steel, or paint kind of persons nowadays. I am not polishing anything anymore. Even next go around, I might save the cost on durabrite wheels and get just brushed aluminum wheels and aero wheel covers.

I do polishing and detailing mobile and to polish them out I charge any where between $250 to $500 depending on how much sanding is needed to give them the mirror shine. That price is for tanks and wheels.
