I'm a workout fanatic. I carry dumbbells in my sleeper and I do push-ups 5 days a week next to the truck. My workouts usually take about an hour X 5 per week. I was 245 and am down to 235 now. 225 is my best weight. I tend to go up 20 then down 20. I've cut out my sodas, sweets, and fast food. I don't count calories much, just watching the junk food.
nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
o......k..... Crossett you asked for it. lol
I'm sharing it because I'm very passionate about it. The public has followed alot of bad information for a long time. Before I give links I want to say I have lost weight without exercise. (I'm not saying that because I'm proud to be lazy, I'm saying it because i find it hard to exercise as a otr driver, and you can't out run a bad diet.) For anybody reading this who might be t2 diabetic, I'm hearing stories everyday of people who DO NOT have to take insulin anymore! And they are doing it BEFORE they drop all the weight. You can clean your blood, by not eating sugar, or foods that turn into sugar. You can clean your blood, and your liver. (in other words that fatty liver won't be fatty anymore.)
Anyway I'm starting to get in over my head here. so here is some links.....

(2 guys who were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, now have dropped weight, and there diebetes by following a ketogenic diet)
dietdoctor.com
Swedish doctor Andreas Eenfeldt organizes a great website with many professionals within the "ketogenic" community. Some of my favorites are
Dr. Jason Fung
Dr. Eric Westman
Dr. Ted Naiman
You can tour website for free, but you have to subscribe to get the full benifet 9.00 per month.
On you tube I like to listen to "Butter Bob Briggs" some of his videos is "Butter will make your pants fall off", "why fat people are hungry", he has a handful more.
Overall these videos will promote very little carbohydrate intake. They will promote explaining to you that as a human you have a choice between two fuel systems...glucose, or fat. (Did you know you can do that?) Your body will burn dietary fat AND body fat for energy in the ABSENCE of sugar/glucose.Irishtrucker, newshoes, Dharok and 1 other person Thank this. -
Soda is what I can't seem to stop drinking , I'm at 270 now and can't seem to get below 265, 11 years ago when I started driving I was 170 be nice to get around 200, I'll check out them websites thanks for the infoTanker_82 and River-driver Thank this.

Couple more things, on YouTube check out Dr. Lustig. he has an older video that has I don't know how many views....ALOT. he does a great job talking about the effects of sugar to your body. If you have Netflix I think "sugar coated" is a great documentary to watch also.
Alright, take care everybody. Larry hope I wasn't an inconvience to your talk on electricity. -
I still drink a sweet tea 2 or 3 times a week. I was a popaholic too. I quit buying them for the truck which is what helped me quit. Water and coffee is about all I drink now. I think some of the weight I've lost was water weight that the sodium in the pop was causing me to retain.

The health advice is appreciated. Speaking of Netflix...I bought a lightning adapter for my iPhone a few weeks ago which allows me to plug it into my tv in the truck with a HDMI cable. When plugged in the tv mirrors my phone screen. Downloaded the Netflix app and I've been watching Fox News stream live and movies on my tv as if I have regular cable anywhere I go. No satellite dish required. For those seeking tv in their trucks it's the way to go.tommymonza, Suspect Zero, motocross25 and 2 others Thank this.

I'd rather listen to the spanish or french version of the truck owner's manual being read aloud for 24 hours a day.
In all seriousness, mobile entertainment isn't that hard to access now a days. Most of the phone carriers are going to unlimited data plans, and this setup will allow you to watch on a TV screen rather than your phone screen during off duty hours. Google devices have the same cord, its just a USB-C rather than a Lightning connector. -
What does Netflix have to do with watching Fox News? Netflix doesn't stream live tv. Fox News is provided by your cell phone carrier?

If he has Boost Mobile with the $10 add on for BoostTV Entertainment, then yes, Fox News is provided by his cell phone provider. He could watch it Live or On-Demand, as the content listing shows both.RoadCall Thanks this.
