Oh yeah Falcon is a great place to work for no doubt. If you don't like money that is. I mean hey you can go thru all that training and get your own truck and feel really good about yourself. BUT THEN....you get a 117 dollar paycheck after they took all their deductions (health/vision/dental/studentloan/advance/disability/accidentaldeath/ect ect) Yeah, and if you don't like your wife and kids, Falcon would be perfect to set you up for that divorce you have been wanting, because when they say weekends home they don't always mean weekends home. They put you out for 70 hours or more a week and let you bring home ####. And they want you to run illegal to boot and get pissed off when you say you are out of hours. If you work out of the birmingham alabama terminal your dispatcher is a retard that doesn't seem to know what she is doing. She'll call you randomly and ask you if you have a trailer or a load on your back knowing that you are heading somewhere across the country. Or she will set you up to pick up a load after dropping off 3 to 400 miles away. Overall i'd say falcon is horrible. But that is just a few of the experiences we've had. i will say everything was great with them until he got his own truck. After that it all went downhill. My husband is still looking into other companys

PERSONALLY I WOULD NOT GO TO ANY OF THESE COMPANYS UNLESS I HAD TO.I WOULD TRY FOR TRANS AM OR U.S EXPRESS.I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THERE AND THEY LIKE THEM.I AM GOING TO TRANS AM MYSELF.THEY HAVE GOOD EQUIPMENT AND PAY ABOUT THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE STARTING OUT.GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH.

Hello fella's, gotta quick question about Falcon Transports flatbed division. They offered to put me through they're training come Feb. I've decided I really would like to run a flatbed, it's really all im intrested in that's OTR. Are they a decent starter company? Is pittsburgh area a good location to be for hometime for any flatbed companies? Has anyone heard of DM Bowman trucking? Do they hire new drivers?

You are 20? No job for you. One of their recruiters came to my school. Ex driver. Seemed like a good guy. No BS.
No APU's. Told us if it is cold? Run the truck. Hot? Run the truck.
They sometimes will take students from what my teachers said. If they need "butts in the seats" they'll hire nebies. When he talked to us they want 6 months. Decent home time. Not spectacular on the pay.
Lots of their stuff is dedicated car stuff. So you know what is going on there. Mostly stay East of Mississippi, I think they stay out of NYC too.
All in all they didn't sound to bad.
He had us drop our names in a hat for a drawing for the hat. He is going to be making calls to us in 6 months to see if we are interested.
Several flat companies I have talked to are waiting for spring to start trainees. -
Yeah, I won't be 20 for long. The recruiter never mentioned 6 month's experience to me when I talked to her, she said if my driving record is still clean when I turn 21 to call them back and they would be intrested in putting me through they're training program. Maybe she didn't know what she was talking about? I don't get my hopes up for anything. Thanks for the response.

tHINGS CAN CHANGE DAY TO DAY. They aren't real high on the pay so it is hard to get experienced drivers. One plus for some is they only go back 2 years on the MVR.
Lots of their stuff is dedicated. Lots is automotive. We know what has been happening there.
They do solo or team. -
if you are around pittsburgh, you might also try P.I and I. i think they take trainee's. they do the same thing, flatbed and steel hauling, but they might pay a little better and they have free bennies because they are union.
falcon is not very good from what i hear.
