I had to take a sleep apnea test for the first time, in 4 years of driving, last year when I got hired onto my current company. They didn't pay for it though. I think my insurance covered the in home test so I did that. Turns out I don't have it. So I think I'm off the hook for 3 years? Idk. I think the Doctor made the comment about having to take the test again in 3 years. Doesn't make sense when the physical is good for 2 years. Should be every 4 years you retest. Or just not retest at all. I gotta find out about that.
IM HIRED!!!!!

Congrats on the job by the way. I talk to a Saia driver quite often in the area I cover and he seems happy being there.
BigTennOTR Thanks this. -
Good Luck!!! I used to work at SAIA, only lasted 9 months there hahaha. I was city driver. Should have applied for a linehaul position instead.
BigTennOTR Thanks this. -
So, help him out- what was the reason you only lasted 6 months?Big Don Thanks this.
-
I'll be a system driver....start training monday!
-
It was 9 not 6.
Saia is a good company. I left because 1000 gross per week as a p&d driver wasn't paying my bills.Big Don Thanks this. -
My buddy works as a p&d driver. Made 60k last year some days are long but your home every day
-
Yup. Also have a friend there as p&d that makes 70k. When I was there they kept running me long days on Thursday and Friday just to call me on Tuesday and tell me to stay home. Most of the guys making the most money are people with seniority. Once a year you get to bid on start times, all the seniority people take the good early times and I took whatever was left haha. You have some guys that all they do is go to a customers warehouse and sit there all day just signing paperwork and calling in everytime trailers are ready to be picked up. Those jobs are usually taking by people that been there awhile.
Also they get paid a lot more since I was there 4 years ago. So that probably counts towards the 60k. Wish I didn't have the payments I did. Back then. Would've still been there. -
They all come in at the same time here... guess it all depends on the terminal
-
Oh wow. I was out of Dallas. They had a lot of shifts. 3am 5. 7. 9. 10. 11am and guys that come out of the dock start at 1or 2pm
