Hey all. I finally got my set up together.
Running a 2006 T800, 18 speed, 4.1 gears, C15 Acert 475, pulling a Michigan train at 154,000lbs.
Getting along ok for the most part.
Power is good but wouldn't mind a dab more.
Boost is 40lb when I'm over 1500rpm with the pedal down.
Pyro runs 1000 or less.
Fuel restriction runs up to 5" at full noise.
Fuel mileage has been about 3.5mph so far running a round trip of 140-150 miles. 154,000 loaded 45,000 return trip.
I cruise in top gear 1500rpm at 60mph.
Would like a bit more mileage if I could.
C15 Acert heavy work mileage.

About what you are going to get. I have had trips that I was lucky to get 3mpg.
Broke Down 69, Oxbow and noluck Thank this. -
Yep that's about your mileage. You may get a bit more power if you add some boost but I wouldn't recommend it on a standard engine.
-
i think for that weight probably not going to be able to do much better
Oxbow Thanks this. -
133k lbs is roughly 62.5 ton
3.5 mpg is around 5.5 km per litre.
Which is what I would average back home in a b double with that same setup. If you were to change the rear to 3.7's you would get a bit better but you would have to use your gears correctly to utilise it. -
Cat can't or won't re-rate your engine?
Oxbow Thanks this. -
I haven't asked. Is re rate to 550 worth it?Oxbow Thanks this.

Also this thing is an outright dog on the first hard pull, after it gets hot it's good to go. Is that an Acert thing?
Came from a 3406EOxbow Thanks this. -
You'll notice the difference for sure. With different rear gears and the 550 you would notice a difference for sure

But dont let cat dealers rerate your c15, they flash low nox file and it will perform worser.
snowman_w900 Thanks this.
