His school is giving him the Motor Carrier's Atlas-2017. Should we go ahead and get the 2018?

 

Nope, what I always do is stay with the "current" year... the "pre release" of the 2018 can SURELY change, between now and the next 6 months.. These wrecked bridges and indecisive road planners have too much time to change something up!!
2017 is perfect for now... totally!!

 

Inverter then would be number one. Also, a cb, truckers atlas, not gps, multiman tool. A light that will fit on your ball cap for pretrippung at night. Basic tools.

 

Also, a pack or two of rubber bungee cords. Make sure they have the metal s hooks on them.

I have used them to keep tandem handles held up so I could get the tandems to start to slide, among other uses. Also, in a pinch, the s hook, if inserted properly can be used as a bolt in the landing gear handle. I would only do that though to get the landing raised, then get to shop. Wont hold for a lot of cranks.

 

Depends, if you have anything else too. Probably 1000. But see if your company allow tbem first.

 

The list is endless or empty. It depends on You. Some drivers go through life with a stolen ink pen and a borrowed phone. Other people go through life with TV, microwave, GPS, laptop, 2 cellphones, 800 DVDs.
