Sup Truckerland. Long time no speak. Haven't really had much time to post. I've been running myself hard, and have been exhausted. So, I got unloaded and then reloaded in Rochester. I'm looking at the GPS, and it's giving me several options. Google gave me a couple as well, and wasn't interested in either. On the GPS there was a really nice path, would have been pretty smooth. But, it was 40 miles longer than the most direct route. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone out of route. The path from Rochester to Greensboro was pretty awful. Lots of twisty mountain roads, and slow going. Once I got there and unloaded, I was given a run that picked up in Lexington and delivered to Albany, GA. That was much of the same. So I basically went from New York to Georgia via mountain pass roads. By the time I arrived this afternoon I was fried. I was given a Miller load that picked up right around the corner, and stopped at the terminal. I don't think I've ever been so happy to be done with a series of runs. I got my tire repaired here at the terminal. I've had a slow leak on one of my drive tires that's been plaguing me for a few weeks. I slid in a Walmart run as well, and a much needed shower. The load I have now is getting dropped in Trenton on Sunday. I am then picking up another load there that is heading for Memphis. The beauty of these runs is that I can slow down considerably. I love running hard and packing in the miles, but it definitely wears on you after about a week of that. I can take a nice leisurely pace for the next 3 days, and i assure you I will. I don't have to leave at any particular time tomorrow morning, although I am shooting for 5am. If I make it, great. If not, no biggie. My destination for tomorrow night is London, Kentucky. The truck stop there is among my top 3 overall. Gonna stop in the Old Town Grill for a reuben and a beer. From there I'll have about 200 miles to Trenton. Quick drop and hook, then off to Memphis. I'll go for about half another 200 miles or so, then drop anchor. Then on Monday morning, polish off the last 200-250 miles remaining on the trip. That load isn't due until 1pm, so no rush to get there. I will be enjoying every inch of the next few days. I know the roads and destinations by heart, and the nice relaxed pace will make this a very enjoyable run. That's all for now, catch y'all on the flip side. Peace.

He had to get a loaner just because of a starter? I realize they are harder to replace on a semi vs a car, but it shouldn't take THAT long....

Hello everyone, and greetings from the fair city of London, KY. Today was nothing short of amazing. The weather was beautiful, except for some rain in Atlanta. And the traffic was non-existent. Even in Atlanta. I had to slow it down to 40-45 for a bit when the rain hit, because it came down HARD. But other than that, it was a picture perfect drive. I stopped off in Cartersville to take my 30. Changed my wiper blades and grabbed a spare set from the shop. Topped off my supply of cover sheets, and grabbed a cup of the best type of coffee...the free kind :biggrin_2559: I almost fueled up but decided to wait until my scheduled stop. Gotta keep those road showers coming lol. Fueled up in Knoxville, then headed for London. I did stop in at my spot next door, but this will be a very short lived visit. I Decided to be a good boy and do a couple loads of laundry and scan in some invoices. While I'm not pressed for time, I've learned the hard way that passing up an opportunity for a good start is beyond foolish. So, grabbing one quick beer and taking my food to go. Yes, I'm a trucker now. But the nerd in me won't stop nagging about getting an early start. And that guy just won't shut up. Fine, killjoy, we'll do what YOU want, as always. Oh well. That guy is a pain in my butt, but he does keep me out of trouble. So I guess I'll let him stay. On a side note, this state could get me in a ton of trouble if I was single. The term "southern accent" is a bit of a misnomer. There are variations by state. I can always tell what state you're from based on how the accent sounds. Well, at least with women. Not so much with men. This Kentucky accent on a woman drives me insane. In a very bad way. If Eliza Dushku had a Kentucky accent, I'd be in jail for stalking. It's my Kryptonite. My food has arrived, so I'm signing off. Gonna listen to my internal nerd and continue to be a good boy tonight. Catch y'all on the flipside. Keep the shiny side up, and be safe out there. Peace.

Yeahhh.. it's been 13ish hours that he was waiting for it, then got the loaner, and the first guy accidentally broke a fuel line.. hence why he's in a loaner..

So much for that nice relaxed weekend. Today squashed that. I dropped off my load in Trenton without a hitch. The load I picked up has been awful. I'm not going to go into details because I don't feel I could post it. So I won't. This probably wasn't my worst day so far in trucking. But I am hard pressed to recall one that was worse. Today has broken me. I am going to stop posting about good days or good things that happen, I know that. Every time I do, the universe craps on me. "So, you're enjoying yourself, huh? We'll see about that." I'm starting to see why grumpy old veterans are so grumpy. Since I don't have a single positive thing to say about anything today, this will be a quick post. No point in bringing other people down with me. Keep the shiny up and the rubber down and all that. Peace out, Truckerland.

Much appreciated, but I'm good. If I take the time to vent, that means I'm spending too much time ruminating on it. Best to pass it like a kidney stone and be done with it.
