i need some advice and knowledge. I was getting truck ready to run out in the morning and was checking fluids. Noticed oil was down about I gallon so I put it in went on to check water and found oil in the coolant reservoir. I need to know what direction to go in with this everything I've been reading is water in the oil. Obviously I know it must go into the shop what is the normal down time with this and what is this going to run me.

I would get your oil cooler tested first. Much more likely culprit than a headgasket (and probably cheaper too!)
Slowpok1965 and Jazz1 Thank this. -
I always thought that oil in the cooling system was a sure indicator of a blown head gasket. What am I looking as far as down time and money out of pocket. Also is there a risk of damage running the truck.

Burning coolant and combustion gases in the coolant is a sign of blown head gasket. Oil and coolant cross contamination is more likely an oil cooler problem. Get it pressure tested.Slowpok1965 Thanks this.

Ok I'm heading to the shop now. Thanks for your time

Oil cooler .
I would get it replaced asap. Running it with oil in your coolant will ruin all your coolant hoses. New oil cooler and flush the system out well. Replace with all new coolant. -
I know you said you were low on engine oil but are you 100% sure it's engine oil in the coolant? It could be the tranny cooler. When they go you get coolant in your transmission or, more often, oil in your coolant. You should be able to tell by the smell and by checking the level of oil in your transmission
