Yes, it's tight and a finger pinching job, but you don't have to remove the radiator. I recommend removing the fan mounting studs from the hub and cutting some cardboard to slide in to protect the radiator. It's very awkward and a little slip could put those studs into the radiator.
If you can get help, it's much easier to get someone on top of the engine using the belt to hold the weight off of it while you guide it out and in. You'll have to take off a few brackets and what not to get enough room. -
Ok, thanks... was looking at it and figured the same thing.. just wanted to see if I was alone..

How do you know if u have a problem with clutch fan

If your replacing your clutch fan ,I highly suggest the 2 speed Horton clutch fan and fan. It's definitely worth the money and the truck runs cooler and it lasts many times longer than the oem fan. We ate clutch fans like crazy on our 2012 ISX in our KW W900. It was common for it to fail in just a month or two and KW knew it ,but would still only replace it with the oem clutch fan. Once the truck was out of warranty we replaced it with the Horton and have over 400k miles on it with no issues. It has a built in magnet that turns the fan while the fan clutch is not engaged and keeps it constantly turning. When the clutch fan does kick in on big hills etc, there is less stress on the clutch fan since the fan is already turning and not starting from a dead start, that's why they call it a 2 speed. It also helps pulling debri from the radiator since the fan is always being turned by the magnet.
bigguns Thanks this. -
Lone mountain replaced it for me not sure with what brand. I know at idle it only kicks on when the coolant reaches 210 degrees. They said the one that was in there looked new. I'm wondering what caused to go in the first case.

Doesn't look like Horton makes one for the older ISX motors......no listing for T600.
