    howdy to all

I wanna clear some things about air pressure sensors.
Volvo has 3 pressure sensors used for engine control

    1. MAP (combined with manyfold air temperature sensor). In Europe mechanics call it boost pressure sensor, but really it is manyfold pressure sensor.

    2. Intake pressure/temperature sensor - this is sensor in turbo intake line. Also used to calculate how clean is air filter

    3. BAT - ambient pressure sensor. It is located inside ECM.

Yep, cummins used external sensors, but European ECM makers fit sensor inside ECM. Usually it is SMD component, but early VOlvo and MBE had DIP design sensors.

    CellNet Thanks this.
