Ta destroyed my drive train

    It wouldn't. However, 25,000 mile service intervals probably have kingpins, shackle pins, suspension bushings, tie rod ends, drag link ends, and everything else wore out too due to lack of lubrication.

    Sure PB; guess I'll buy that. Amazing what a coat of grease can do, ain't it? Cheap, too.
    The original post made it seem like truck went from magic carpet ride, to the truck from hell - cause they changed some driveline parts. I know I changed my king pins and spent $400.00 just for the reamer and guide set to do the job myself. What a difference! Drives laser straight and no wander at all.
    The spec. is 1/16" movement side to side, and I didn't have that - but it moved some, and I didn't like it.
    Not that I'm a perfectionist, but if it can be improved, go for it. Less tire wear is another bonus.

    Sorry about your problems missjhawk, I have dealt with t/a crap before, learned not to trust them and my drivers insist on watching them do the work when they can if the trucks get there. I have been dealing with tha dealers more and more because I have had less screw ups, like tightening oil filters or putting back bolts on some items. Get a great deal on a set of steers out west at a t/a and they first gave me someone else's tires back (we were keeping the old ones for spares) but tighten the lug nuts on the right side, my driver gets out on the road and not more then a mile away the truck started to shake uncontrollably gathering speed on the on ramp. I had to get a drum, rim and studs replaced thanks to that.

    However I learned a hard lesson about paying with comcheck, there is no support for bad service from them, so I started to pay with credit cards with high limits and because I do, I have recourse through Amex and visa/MasterCard. I can refuse to pay on my account and tell the cc company that I did not get the work done right and they need to help get it corrected. Amex has been good about this but I was surprised when I had all axle brakes done on one truck and they screwed it up (dealer) and they wanted me to pay to get it fixed right, I called Amex and they called the dealer and told them they won't release the money until I'm happy with the work so it was fixed.
