antenna length?

    Need antennas and cable for my columbia. If I'm mounting to the mirrors how tall can I go? 48" or 36"

    Measure from the ground to the bracket then subtract from 13'6".
    4.5 to 5 foot seems average.

    If you have the arm on top and bottom ,i would mount it on the bottom(buy longer ant to)and use top part of the arm to keep it bending backwards in the wind..That way you can use a 6ft or maybe a 7..

    I hit everything with my browning Br-78 but it gets out real good mounted on the top mirror arm on my CH mack daycab.

    You can even use a 9 foot whip to make a ground plane antenna for a base station!!! ;)

    Your not gonna get a 9 ft on a truck unless you mount it LOWWWW...

    Unless you use a couple of them to build a horizontal or inverted vee and mount it up high.
