Best boards and apps for sourcing loads?

Dat is all you need basically

 

dat load board and truckstop.com plus all the individual broker load boards

 

I use ITS, think dat is just as good. Maybe a little better.

 

ITS does not have nearly as many loads as Dat has

 

Depends on the equipment. I found for lowboy ITS and dat have the same loads

 

Would you consider your own numbers, trailer and DAT membership to be superior for a new OO starting out as oppose to leasing onto a company like Landstar/mercer/small family owned fleet?

 

It really all depends on the situation, including your experience and how much your insurance will run. Other factors to consider is how much cash flow or reserves you have. Also a smaller to medium sized family owned fleet may be willing to be there to back you if something goes wrong such as a major mechanical. Lots of other things to consider so I would say each individual basis has to be considered.
