Stay away from this place at all cost. Arrived at 12:30pm for a 2:00pm appointment for a load that delivered 10pm 4 hours away at Harris Teeter in Greensboro. Didn't get backed in til after 6pm and still loading at 7:30pm. It's Friday and I'm hoping I don't get stuck with the load until Monday night. (They only receive from 10pm to 9am). I live in Charlotte which would mean dragging this heavy ### load an extra 200 miles. The broker said he would compensate me if that happened but I'm not getting too excited yet.

Awww.
It seems like they load on a emergency basis. Customer wants this load right now so they wait to the last minute to load something they know that will be late already.
Personally if that was me in there I won't be back to either one of these two places.
I hope you got that in writing from the broker. This load is already going down the tubes and it's fixing to be saturday shortly. How is your reefer fuel? -
Reefer fuel is fine. It's a dry load. My original intention was to deadhead home from here. I wasn't even going to work yesterday or today but I was offered $1100 to bring a load to Richmond from Charlotte. This load back to Greensboro is only paying $500 but I figured its on the way so why not. Who knows... Maybe they'll work me in tonight.strollinruss Thanks this.

I would already be on the phone with them and let them know. In my experience, a call ahead always helpspassingthru69 and LandslideRich Thank this.

Normally, I would have bailed given the opportunity, but the broker was really cool about it. He said he would give me layover pay for each night I was stuck with it which will come to $450 after it sits in my yard all weekend. Plus he did offer me off the load without a service failure. I'm pretty sure he'll keep his word... I do a lot of pinch loads for another branch of his company and they have always been good with me.strollinruss and trucker3205 Thank this.

Hope you get it, will off set the cheap rate...
LandslideRich Thanks this. -
I got out at 9:15 and the receiver said don't even bother to bring it. It will have to be rescheduled for no sooner than 10PM Monday.
-
That's the only thing about those people who don't unload until night. Oh well, at least the guy says he will give you a little extra. Just the way it goes sometimes. Now you've got all day Monday to fix crap on your truck.LandslideRich Thanks this.

Never heard if it was made right for him or not. We taking odds on this. Lol

They gave me 2 nights layover @ $150 ea plus 4.5 hours detention @ $50 ea for a total of $525 plus the original $500 for running the load. Not bad especially since I got $1100 to run the load up from Charlotte to Richmond. Not a bad turn...$2125 for about 700 miles.passingthru69 Thanks this.
