I used to work at an Audi dealership and most of the cars sold were silver, followed by black, white, blue and red. Audi cars are tough as nails in an accident, with the corrosion resistance to match(don't you just love galvanized steel construction). When you shell out $40K to $120K for a brand new one you definitely get your money's worth.

That's no joke. I ran a small Audi specialty shop in VA for about four years and remember three crazy examples with my customers.

2001 A4 Quattro into a field sideways at over 60mph. Clipping the lip of a vertical drainage ditch. Right suspension front and rear was toast. Chassis was still straight and the only body damage was a cracked front bumper cover.

1994 100 Quattro Avant (wagon) rear ended. Estimated impact speed was 80mph. Car was totaled but you could still open all 4 doors and the left rear glass still intact.

1990 V8 Quattro flipped multiple times at Summit Point Raceway. Totaled but drove on and off the rollback.
