The little fuel stop by the Ameristar casino in Kansas City is closing today and will be turned into a Pilot.
I've always stopped in there, usually park at the fuel pump and got my coffee and breakfast,
It'll be a crowded mess when they hang up that Pilot sign, and they're getting rid of the kitchen too.
Pilot is taking over another one

If they are just going to dealer (franchise) under the Pilot brand, they won't attract much volume. Fuel bought at Pilot dealers is not counted on volume rebate plans and as such carriers looking to get into higher rebate tiers will discourage or forbid company drivers from fueling there.

I noticed the shelves were almost empty and no fresh sandwiches and asked if they were going out of business and she said yes, at 10:00 they were closing down and whenever it reopened it'd be a PilotNavigatorWife Thanks this. -
It might be possible Pilot actually bought the property but it just doesn't seem likely but I've never visited that place. Maybe it has great potential and Pilot recognized this ... or perhaps somebody else wanted to take a shot but realized they would need the franchise support of someone like Pilot or AmBest

That's ok, I'll still avoid it. It's only got what, maybe 5 parking spots in it?
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
It was still open this morning, I didn't stop in as I thought it would be closed and bought a coffee and muffin at the Ameristar for $6.92 it was a good strong coffee and a big and good muffin, but a tad overpriced
