You are working remotely when 100 of your drivers are scattered to both coasts and some in canada.

If you like to be constantly rounding up the lazies who are going to be late today prior to sunrise.... and having them to call and explain themselves while taking up your time away from others who deserve it.

the owner sold the company and the new owner wouldn't let him telecommute anymore so he quit

I used to be a fleet manager for jb #### and you're answer is lol no

Also I highly don't reccommend the job. Truckers in general are the biggest group of moronic idiots who need constant hold handing. The sheer stupidity of truckers is truly astounding, they're truly bottom of the barrel in society and truckers earned the bad rap we get from society. There are a few normal and dare I say even smart truckers out there and i'm sure most of the folks on here fit that profile but they're few and far between

I have been blessed and lucky enough to build my current group of drivers up to about 3 to 4 problems and the other 20 can pretty much let them run on auto pilot. I do understand where you are coming from but I have always tried to refrain from painting with a broad stroke. Unfortunately tho, well I guess it is what is....

I think is better if they pay the dispatcher/ driver manager a share of the loads that's the only way I would do it..... companies pay per hour or salary( which means you are on the clock 24/7) I would do it for percentage only and that's why I left corporate America I cant stand to watch a lazy sob doing bare minimum while I worked my rear flat.

Kind of ironic that a dispatcher who deals with their drivers remotely can't work remotely.

Now now, don't you know that dispatchers are grumpy old drivers who are past their prime... he he he. I actually iinterviewed for one once. They got a little afraid of me and my non pc. I suppose they did not want their nice peaceful office infested with various escapades possible...

Not necessarily love the dispatcher. Those are very rare. I had many bad ones in life and many who simply think two inches on the USA map is today's appointment. There are however three people Ive worked with who are very good at what they did once they understood us. Im pretty sure we ran em ragged. But they did very well.

    But love em? hell no.
