Signs you should have just stayed in bed this morning - in the first 54 minutes since coming on duty you've GOALed at least 12 times.

Hey mickeyrat (that names gives me a chuckle everytime btw) and anyone else working at Schneider. I need some help with something. Due to start finally with SNI and been offered the Anheuser-Busch account out of Portland (so driving WA, OR, ID). I know these are heavy loads but just wondering if it's a good idea to take this account being my first trucking job and all? Mainly chose because heard they use new trailers, have autos, and work only a week out. Or would it be better starting OTR first then move to dedicated? Thanks4mer trucker Thanks this.

I was in a different region so things may be different, but in my experience , even with some tradeoffs, dedicated was the best for me.
Steady checks, steady miles, steady home time. and regular customers.Oh and perhaps the single best reason, support shift for dedicated was actually supportive!!!!
I started regional otr. at 6 months switched to dedicated and never looked back. ended up working here for a month or so shy of 5 yrs.
So all I can really offer is this, what goals have you set for yourself and which route gets you there with minimal fuss and #### eating. Whatever answer meets this criteria, go with that one.
but seriously, dedicated. 6 months in you can request a switch if you choose to.Rocknroller4 and gentleroger Thank this. -
I appreciate the positive response. I figured even though it's heavy weight dedicated that maybe the weights would be the same and all I would have to do is check to make sure is legal. I know the roads up here pretty well and there is some night driving required which is what I wanted. I was surprised they would hire a new guy for this account but I guess they will train. Only thing I know for sure is there is some waiting around with this account and that it will burn up your 14-hour clock. Guess I'm just nervous.Last edited: Jul 6, 2017

You'll be pulling the 4 axle trailers that they've got for that accountRocknroller4 Thanks this.

Picked up a relay load at Laredo. Missing the air line grommets. Nice to know some things never change.

Good? bad? I read the trailers are newish.

Trls are brand new...the reason for 4 axles...heavy haul

ok well looks like they want me to take a refresher now. Not so sure as I don't want to be stuck into a contract and have to pay back 1200. especially with a starter company.
G13Tomcat Thanks this.
