My load to MD cancelled so I had to make a new plan. Not as good but I'll be back in Arkansas next week and still be at 2.19 a mile on all miles. I was disappointed the MD load didn't work out. Customer wouldn't give us the appointment we wanted. The delivery was too far out so they decided they would reschedule the pickup too.

Well, that failed too. I called this particular brokerage several times this weekend that I needed the load info so I could get to the shipper last night or I wasn't going to make the delivery. They never sent it, I told the agent I got it from all this on Friday but he never called me back or email to confirm anything. Sent an email last night I can't do the load now because I never received your rate con or load info. This is the second time I've reached an agent like this, that just doesn't understand how it works from my end of the deal. I'm on Elogs, I can't do 800 miles in a maximum of 12 hours, that's how long I'd have needing a 10 hour break in between.
It worked out though, about to get rollin' in a minute and I'll make 1100.00 today and only go 400 total miles. Then I have a money load over to WI, a lot better than his cheap load anyway.Dave_in_AZ and kimbosa Thank this. -
If you don't get a rate con in 5 to 10 minutes move on and look for other loads. Tell them up front you'll hold the truck for 10 minutes. That's pretty standard and most people don't have an issue with it. Now sometimes they explain a good reason why it may take 15 or 20 minutes and I'll wait but most people can send one over in 5 minutes or less.
taodnt Thanks this. -

My accountant sent me an email today and invoices are rolling in. She deposited 5400.00 today. Feels good to see money coming in finally. You go through money fast when all you're doing is spending. I had enough saved up that I still had a nice cushion. As a leased owner op and paid every week it isn't too difficult but doing this you have to have a big chunk in the bank to start.

After a stressful morning trying to line up loads I think I got it figured out. Between that and traffic on 78W into PA I'm worn out after 8 hours of work. It paid off though, got 850.00 on a load of 168 total miles out of NJ to PA, 1.70 down to NC and 2.00 to Birmingham by the 20th.
My go to guy back home says he has loads out of Birmingham back to AR and I'm hoping that works out. If not, There's plenty to do over there.
Got my IFTA in and received a credit of 42.00 and got 7.62 for the quarter, it was short as I got started in May and didn't have a real month until June.
My mileage numbers are different than you see me posting and this is because I only count loads on a given month if they unload in that month. I track everything by spreadsheet and don't want my numbers to be inflated when I'm making decisions.

Had an issue with the shipper on the NC run that cost me an additional day on it. Kept rolling and I'm now back in OH, to NJ for some good money with my go to contact here, then to Chicago for Friday. Trying to setup a load of cheese in that area back to MO so I can get in town to take care of personal business and some small maintenance items. If I can get the cheese in by Monday I'll pull in about 21k this month on 10,100 miles.
