Just wondering how the insurance is and Estes. As far as premium and deductible and such. They seem like a fairly decent company to work for.

The insurance is actually really decent. As far as exact figures and plans there's multiple to choose from. The one I chose was like 58$ a week for myself, daughter, and wife before she went full time at her job. Now with that said, and idk your living situation, and if your married or happy and its none of my business BUT, if your wife works and is offered any sort of insurance she has to take her employers offered coverage. Now you can still cover your kids. However if your wife doesn't work or isn't offered any insurance you can cover her. And you will sign a piece of paper stating this. And they will research it and you will be terminated if falsifying. Now if it's just you, Estes does offer a policy that's free but I can't speak on how great or not so great it is. I do know anytime we went to the doctor it was 20$ co pay and that usually covered it. I went thru hell with a kidney stone and had some procedures done and more than the brunt of it was picked up by insurance. Dental is like 6 bucks a week, $1500 max for every member, and vision is like 3$. These figures may vary slightly in either direction, as I'm going off memory, but hopefully it gives you an idea.

No I left about a month ago. Management in St. Louis was gettin a bit too ridiculous for me. Are you going linehaul or city for them?
-
City.. Here in Okc.. I had an offer from xpo as well. But chose Estes over them. Just seemed like it would be a better overall experience.plus xpo was going to have me on the flex schedule. Estes put straight on as a city driver. Xpo has 54 drivers compared to 15 for Estes.

Also almost $2 an hour more for Estes.

Gotcha. Yea you'll do good there. And as far as city you'll have a set start time. So that'll be good. Sometimes you'll have long days but it comes with the territory. Everything you pickup they want to make service at night for linehaul so it shouldn't be too bad. We had like 55 city drivers and St. Louis is a break bulk so we'd have linehaul trucks in and out constantly. Whether it be extraboard guys or teams or scheduled runs from all over and had something like 60+ scheduled runs a day out of our terminal so they could always throw our inbound freight on something. At a "smaller" terminal like OKC they'll probably try to bring you in sooner to get your trailer broke and cross docked and sent out to where the stuff needs to go.
