I was trying to explain to Craig that I am always learning new things about this hobby too, and try not to get too hung up on the little things. I suppose Mr Rabbi will cring when he reads that last line....LOL. Antenna analyzers are a great tool, but sometimes they make me chase the rabbit down the wrong path.

    It was rhetorical, rabbi.

Night, it doesn't matter much because you are working with HF which isn't effected by it - in other words this isn't a high performance system where every little thing counts. AND because of the length of coax used (under 1000 feet), there is even less of a concern over it.

VF and even discussions about dielectric insulation compositions seem to be creeping into the CB world like it matters.

A lot of this stuff around here reminds me of the 'golden ear' Hi-Fi audio crowd, arguing about being able to hear the difference in speaker cables and power cords, except in the latter case their are folks making thousands of dollars off the gullible. I'll know the millenium has arrived when I start seeing recommendations to use $5/ft hardline to the mobile antenna, and arguing about the color of the wrap on a fiberglass stick making a difference.

So what if there are discussions? It's more about acquiring the knowledge. I don't just want to know that it doesn't matter, I want to know why.

    poppapump1332 Thanks this.

I like my wrap with the pleasure dots and lube.

Er... wait... that isn't what we were talking about, is it?
