Thanks JB, she has been in the Navy for 14 years, after her tour in Japan she will only have two years left until she can retire. At first we weren't too thrilled with her going half way around the world for four years, but it will be an awesome experience for her and her family. I think it will be an unbelievable experience for our grandsons as well.

Dropped my California load at the customer in Lincoln, then bobtailed to our drop yard in Lincoln, and I am waiting on another driver to bring me my load that will get me home by mid day Friday.
When I get home Friday I will have been gone exactly 3 weeks. I will have 8,994 paid miles for those 3 weeks, this despite being down for 3 days due to breakdown and having to switch trucks. My goal I shoot for as a per week average is 3000 miles.

    Rocks Thanks this.

Got home Friday morning, drove up to Norfolk, Va. for my daughter and her families going away party. Drove back to South Carolina Sunday, and rolled out Monday morning to make my drop in North Carolina. Dead headed to Sumter, SC to pick up a pre loaded trailer going up to Broken Bow, Nebraska, for as soon as I could get it there. Out of Broken Bow I will either get a load going to Redlands, Ca. or back down to Four Oaks, NC.

Well today was my first WTH kind of day since I've been here. In route to my drop in Broken bow, dispatch informs me that my truck is ready in North Platte and they need my loaner truck for the LP program. So I drop in Broken bow yesterday at 1400 and head to the truck stop to take a 10. This morning I send dispatch a message on the Qualcomm at 8 am asking what the plan is, am I getting load or going to get the other truck. I don't ask for much, but if I send a message, I expect a response in a reasonable amount of time. After 2 hours and no response I sent a more direct message asking for a response. Finally a decision is made to dead head me back to Fremont.

Tomorrow morning a driver will carry me back to North Platte to pick that truck up, and come back to Fremont to move everything from the loaner into my original truck. Have I mentioned how much I hate changing trucks? Hopefully after two wasted days I can have a productive weekend.

    Rocks and ncmickey Thank this.

Caught a ride with another driver this morning that was headed out to Vegas, he dropped me off in North Platte to get my truck. He was a great guy, but made me feel old, during our conversation I mentioned that in 1991 I was in the first Gulf war, he goes " wow I was 4 years old in 1991" Deadheaded from there out to Broken bow to pick up a load going to Four Oaks, NC for Monday. Swung back through the yard and spent 2 hours moving all my gear, and squaring it away. I am already pre planned out of Four Oaks Monday going up to Havre De Grace, Md for a drop Tuesday morning. I will be recapping next week, not sure what we have coming out of Md. they might bounce me up to Pennsauken, NJ, I've loaded there before. Be safe and have a good weekend.

No pets in company trucks, but we have small fleet owners you can drive for that do allow pets, and LP guys can have pets.

Good thread going here @runningman0661, just curious did you work for Poly Trucking at one time or do I have you mixed up with someone else?
