I don't remember the exact numbers but my prostar with 100k miles was being leased to me by quality for $250k over a ten year period, I think. Weekly payments were $695 for the truck plus base plates, bobtail insurance. $20 a week for a tax service that I canceled. Celadon also doesn't reimburse for tolls or scales so that's another $50 a week. Plus they deduct around $180 for maintenance. Lol on an almost brand new truck that's still under warranty.

Once you do L/P with Celadon you will get sales calls for benefits packages and other crap. Lololol, as if your pay isn't low enough already

Sometimes on freightrover - the loadboard that Celadon uses( they charge $7 a week for it)
You will see some really good high paying loads but whenever your close to getting two good loads back to back something bad will happen. Either the app won't let you book the load or your DM will pull it off you and tell you , you have to take something else that pays much less. And don't forget if you try to get your own loads from truckerpath or some other loadboard Celadon will shut off your fuel card

I'm going to be honest here, I've been with Celadon for 2.5 months now, and the past month, this company has gone down the Crappie.

Since I been here I have made pretty decent money.

For the month ending June, my monthly financial report said I made $19,482 in revenue.

Net income before tax was $8,079

Net income after tax was $6,867

The thing about it is I took about 10 days off in June. Took every weekend off. I usually run about 4-5 days out the week.

Realistically, I could have made $10,000-$12,000 had stay out on the road.

It isn't about miles with this company, it's about choosing the best paying loads.

Do I recommend this company? Heck NO.

Can money be made here? Yes

But, it's getting much harder this past month, as I can't choose good paying load now, since they have a 10% deadhead stipulation in order to choose a load off of freight rover now.

More than like this will be my last month here if they don't remove the 10% deadhead stipulation soon.

I never accept any load they send to my truck, as they would have me driving for free.

2 things. First they are not going to remove the 10% dh stipulation. Under utilization of equipment and high empty miles was specifically named as main causes of their recent financial problems.

2nd how the heck do you gross 19k but only see 8k of it?

Haha, I thought cooking the books for FY2016 and then lying to the shareholders about the numbers was the root of there recent financial problem.

Under utilization of equipment and high empty miles seems like management have concocted a poor excuse to point the finger as to why their in this boat.

Just a few weeks ago they denied assigning me a load that was 300 miles away that was 800 loaded miles. It paid $1500. Said it was too many deadhead miles and planners wouldn't give it to me. I was in Florida at the time

I told them it's not up to them to determine how far I want to deadhead, since I'm a lease operation. They continued to say it was up to them.

That same day, I deadheaded 400 miles to Atlanta, and assigned myself a load that was 750 loaded miles and paid $1550 just so I wasn't wasting a day and a half trying to get it off Florida.

As for your other question, I go the speed limit in every state I'm in, that way I can squeeze in more miles in a short amount of time, sacrificing fuel and MPG, in order to take 2-3 days off every week, always guaranteeing i get a 34 hour reset every week.

If I didn't care about taking home time every week, I'm sure I could save a few thousand dollars more every month by setting my speed at 60-63mph and get 7mpg to 8.5mpg on every load.

That said, I'm already looking at jumping over to Schneider or Landstar in a month or so, as the freight rover lead board is starting to be manipulated as of late, in another attempt to limit load opportunities for us lease drivers.

Don't bother coming to Schneider they have dropped to all time low with the load board minipulation. I recently made the mistake of returning to sni. It's predominantly nothing but garbage on the board.

It's more than just fuel. Your cost are extremely high.
