Personally, I would say local or OTR. To me.....a lot of regional positions (though not all) I don't think offer the money we should be making for still being out. In my opinion, in your case.....I'd take local. You're still making money (maybe just as good, maybe not) but you're still home. All in all though, that's a decision YOU'VE got to make.

I hear ya. They're a pretty rough outfit from everything I read. I know you were just trying to get your start. The biggest problem I'm finding, at least in our area, is for hauling regional, there's not a lot of money. It's almost like you either have to commit to the OTR to make dough. Or stay local. It's not that great in between. Which unfortunately is the conclusion I'm coming to. But anyway, put some apps in with those companies I mentioned if you don't mind some exercise. They pay well and most are hiring with little experience. They'll train you.

Also, if you're south of Portland, There's a Shaw's distribution center in Wells that's hiring pretty frequently and home every night. Delivering to their grocery stores

Rn8806 had a good suggestion about Pottle's if you want to run regional. I never hear any complaints about them or RC Moore. Not sure about either of their hiring requirements, but check em out. I know Hartt hires for regional in the Portland area too.
