I do not suggest that you go to Wil-Trans as a company driver. Weather you are a team or not. They will take you as a company team but you will get whatever miles best pays the company. Like I said. It's all about dollars per mile. Generating as much revenue from your truck as possible. Sometimes it will pay the truck more to take a load 700mls rather than this other load 2000mls. Now. Do you want to get a percentage of that revenue or just a mear per mile wage? Work smarter, not harder. We made very good money with Wil-Trans. More than one would expect. I have to say though that very rarely did we ever do 6000 miles in a week. Just to give you an idea of weather or not I know what I am talking about you can go to the web site and look up the driver of the month for 2006. Then look at the driver of the year for 2006. In both cases you will see a pic. of Myself, My wife, and Darrell Lake. One of the best fleet mgrs. Ive ever had.

country cruisers,
Do you think it was worth it?(leasing) how locked in is their lease program? would you recommend them for leasing? Thank you for your info. My wife and I have experienced both big company leases and little company leases, and now we are wary of the little ones? do appreciate your help. -
My wife and I have decided that even though we made good money we would rather be company drivers with a company that takes out taxes and provides good Ins. When you Lease a truck it is alot of responsability to keep up the payments. It seems like it takes most of the week to pay for the expenses then the last two or three days of the week get to be for you. Now if the week is short for some reason, guess what? You just worked all week for 0 dollars in your pocket. It is a walk away lease. Just turn in the truck and your done. But the last check will not come to you for 45 days. Thats how long it takes for them charge you for all the repairs on the truck you turn in. Frankly its a good feeling not having all that stress in our life. For Lease companys though they are fair and honest as far as I could tell. Do you have an ap. in with them now?

How does a driver get proof that they are getting 72%?

We have not talked to them yet. I have spoke to many different companies this week and am still searching before making a decision. I saw their web site and decided to look into it a little further. I find it more informative to try to find drivers to talk to before making the recruiter call. Then I kind of piece it together and usually come up with a happy medium. Any way, we have done the lease thing for a little over five years now, one company for five years, the other for three months. Needless to say, we dont want to job leap and are going to be a little more cautious as to where to go. We have done very well leasing and would like to continue this route for now. It seems we put to many miles on trks for it to be worth buying them. I am planning on calling wil-trans so any heads up would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, do they hire in Fl? Thanks
-
LOL. They Dont.

THank you, anyway, I heard a lot of talk about them in the northeast and midwest, so Fl was a probably a long shot. My dad always said "palm trees and jobs don't go together" this is definitely true in the trucking world.

I have also been looking at celadon, they seem to be team friendly and have a decent lease program. I emphasize seem!

I'm not sure. I do know that we would pull flowers out of Fl. If you go to Wil-Trans and you don't mind a little extra work, ask about hauling flowers. We made our best money hauling flowers. Its very hard work but pays the best. The flowers we pulled out of Fl. were from Miami and Pierson.
