Hahaha! Nice equipment! Perhaps from the outside at 65mph they look okay, but at least half of the fleet have 750k or more on the clock. Maintenance is a 4 letter word around there.
But, I've been with them for almost 2 years and I just remind myself of what the aforementioned safety and recruiting director told me, all trucking companies suck, ours just happens to suck a little less.
Local or regional?

Their only job posting requires tanker which I'm just waiting on the state to send me test date for that.

Don't be mislead by local drivers saying that is the best way to work. Local drivers typically get paid a lot less for their time, work much longer hours and have to hustle around the city. Local work can really suck the joy out of the job. And so what if you go home every day? After working 12 hours plus commute time you got nothing left.
You can get much better than advertised home time if you live near or move to a major lane or account.
I run regional and I sleep in my own bed 12-15 nights per month. I have an easy job and only have to drive about 2000 miles/week to make $65k/ year. There is nothing exceptional about me or the company I work for, I just made the right decision to domicile near the account.tman78 Thanks this. -
While i agree there are a ton of #### local gigs, i must say keeping your eyes out can certainly get you local and happy. I live 5 minutes from the shop, (no seriously, 8 min front door to truck door) i work between 8 and 10 hours a day, usually closer to 8 and i take home between 50 and 60k, all holidays paid, right now i have 108 hours of vaca available, nice trucks, well kept. 4 am till around 1pm m-f no weekend work... its all in what makes you happyVelli, Bob Dobalina, Texas_hwy_287 and 1 other person Thank this.

Super similar here. Hours, and all. Even get to take home the Pete, may actually buy her outright, but what's the rush?!?!
street beater Thanks this. -
I also worked local and made $1200 take home a week and that was back in the 1990's. I'm retired now and hauling gasoline was the best job I ever had. I did OTR and regional and they were no way close to the local tanker work I did.

I'm thinking about trying to get into Schneider regional again if can't find local work. I already emailed someone at CRST and got a way to pay off the contract. They still have me as a active driver even though I left 2 weeks ago so does that count as 4 months experience then

I like Regional better
-
LMAO
I did the same thing when I worked there... -
Were I you; I'd work off the contract. Not only won't they (probably) credit you for that time in training, they are known to "black balk" people. Never been there, just saying.
@Chinatown ... hear similar?>?
