Problem with my 1998 Volvo VNL, Cummins M11:
Just after fueling the other day truck started vibrating while at low speed and accelerating.
After gaining some speed the vibration stops.
Couple of hour later the yellow warning light comes up with only 3 codes:
MID 128
PID 84
FMI 10.
Pulled over, started the truck again, clear the codes, no warning this time but the computer is now showing wrong fuel usage (it's showing 5.9mpg on average while I usually get 7).
It is only the computer that is showing it wrong, the actual fuel usage is still the same so I wonder if something might be wrong with the computer itself?
P.S. Truck is still vibrating at idle and low speeds.
Any ideas where should I start?

Bad fuel? Have you put any fuel in since then?
CoyoteExpress Thanks this. -
I was wondering the same. Only got another 80 gal after that ( from a different place for sure) but I don;t see a difference so far.

Have you changed your fuel filters yet you may need to buy some extra filters an keep them in tool box till bad fuel runs thru?
CoyoteExpress Thanks this. -
HOw high is the fuel in the glassfilter???

Google shows that code to be an erratic rode speed fault which may be an issue with the speed sensor on the tail of the transmission. The vibration at idle is a little trickier, can be several things, but a fuel filter issue usually rears its head under a load, just like an injector miss. You could use a temp gun and shoot the exhaust ports to make sure all the injectors are firing, the cold one is going to be missing, or run an injector cut out test with a laptop.
