Yeah you could be right.
I'm just wondering if there was a genuine change in the law lately.
I'm googling and binging trying to find if this is indeed the law.
So far I've found nothing officially saying they can legally observe you right off the bat with no reasonable suspicion. -
When I was in the military we'd be observed and it would literally be a dozen or more in a large bathroom with multiple urinals and there were some that would get ' stage fright' and not be able to produce a sample. One female soldier I knew had that problem and they ended up putting her in a private room with an observer and she wasn't allowed to leave until she produced which she said took 4 hours.
I'd rather not see trucking degenerate into all of us being treated like criminals in the name of safety. -
Past military, you should be used to the meat gazer

I would file a complaint with the state on this, seeing that it wasn't a parole DS but a per-employement thing and no law covers it, not one law I can find.
Studebaker Hawk, EZ Money and Just passing by Thank this. -
I will ask my new employer if they knew/requested this as well. Though I don't start for 2 weeks ( just gave my current job notice) I got hit with a random few weeks ago with my current employer and it was not observed, so something doesn't add up here.

That was 20 yrs ago.
I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now. -
i wouldn't sweat it. maybe they had some schmuck cheat and had a bottle of someone's pee. maybe they do this on occasion and have to note it on a federal form that they do check for frauds.
this may be the last time you'll ever be observed.
it would take more than someone watching over my shoulder to pee, to quit the industry.
like maybe farting, as I PEE..?????BigPerm Thanks this. -
If they stand to close to ya jyst accidentally piss on their shoes
Steel Dragon, AModelCat, tucker and 3 others Thank this. -
No, there hasn't been any changes in the regulations that require DOT pre-employment drug tests to be observed. It's possible that the collector may have had a reason to believe that you would tamper with the sample and told you this to save any arguments. That's just an assumption. It's best to follow the collector's instructions and then argue after you have provided a sample.Studebaker Hawk, double yellow, homeskillet and 1 other person Thank this.
