Taking a break from HHG, can't deal with this labor BS anymore!! Don't know what I'm going to do next but I need this break!!
-
Labor knocked me off the road. It is the worst part of driving.

I was driving past Ritchie Brothers auctions in Dunnigan CA a few weeks ago, and it looked like an entire moving van fleet was in the yard.
I can't remember the name currently, but it was one of the ones that I consider large.
Their yard is pretty big, and it was mostly full of these trucks and trailers... -
Grabel Van Lines closed up. Too much debt from a recent acquisition and too little volume in the industry. Hours of service rules are making havoc for movers as well as all the other business costs, plus as bad as finding freight drivers is, much worse for van lines.

Ive always been afraid of hiring onto the moving people. They would stick a two ton upright piano onto my 132 pound frame and stick it 3 floors up the stairs along the banister too.
Im no slouch when it comes to helping move stuff. But the Piano Scenario is my... rubicon that I refuse to deal with. -

Reading through the thread, I'm assuming bed bugger is a mover? Not the parasite?
Seen about 4-5 OTR,
one across the street.
yay...new neighbors . -
You know. That's not a bad idea. And would be easy to do. I picked up a few SureMove trailers at my time with Estes. As @Bob Dobalina stated, customer calls, you show up, drop it in front of their garage, hook up the ramp for them, show them how the bulkhead attaches and there ya go have at it. The customer would estimate the amount of feet they'd use. And almost ALWAYS they didn't use as much as they thought. But they agreed to the space alotted, too bad so sad. But if they went over, they paid for that dearly. We'd show up and the bulkhead was up and we were NOT to remove the bulkhead. Just measure with a tape the actual floor space used, throw the ramp
in, slam under it and drag it back to the yard. But long story short yea. They could have loaded 12 feet of drums with no lids filled with nuclear waste. Don't take the bulkhead down. Aye aye captain! It's not cheap. One elderly woman was relocating from STL to Malibu, sweetest lady you'd ever met. She was up at the terminal a week or so later DEVASTATED. Estes lost the trailer in the system. -
Lost. The. Trailer. In. The. System.
That's like our President being told that the lie regarding a lost carrier recently was exposed for what it was.motocross25 Thanks this.
