Can anyone share their opinion about which of the many brands of cascadia mirror mount perches actually hold up? I've heard different things about different brands . There are so many, you got Wilson, procomm, and workman..I know most are aluminum, some built only for 5 ft antennas, then I've heard Wilson breaks at the bolt holes, which in my opinion could be a torque issue...any input would be appreciated..

I used the Wilson bracket for two years and didnt have any issues. Used a Predator 10k with 27" shaft for a year then switched to a 5' siro fiberglass ( less stress on mount) . The Wilson perch was exposed to all types of climate and weather but didnt see any signs of corrosion, and didnt see any early signs of cracks. The Wilson is the only one I used so really dont have any input on the other brands but I know some forum members recommend getting one made of steel instead of aluminum.

And that includes me, for the antenna I'm using now, any aluminum bracket wouldn't cut it, and I check the steel one for cracks every day.

I have never heard of the Cascadia bracket being called a bird perch, the original bird perch was made specifically for Volvo's, it is a 5.5" rod with threads on one end that replaces one of the mirror screws and you put your antenna mount on it.

i cannot even begin to imagine what it looks like.

then too, it may be something i have always seen in the cb section of the truckstop, just not technically called a bird perch.

The Everhardt 5 footer, or Francis 5.5 don't think would put that much stress on a mount..At the worse probably would be the wind drag.
