They texted you that you were laid off and on Friday? Could they be more gutless? I'd tell them to get bent if they didn't have more common decency and professionalism than that.

Not much better here in the states, lemme tell ya. Tried that 6 years ago when asphalt doesn't move in the winter. No thanks... I'll pull flats (out of derision and deference) in the Winters, still hoping for a salt gig this year'round.

M company hauls automotive parts and we shut down two weeks for summer, this time it was the end of June thru the week of July 4th. You can file unemployment and get benefits, so that's when our company started having people work around the yard for one week to avoid paying the unemployment. It should be an option for you.

yes Shogun, exactly what I thought.
Spineless not to look you in the eye and shake your hand and wish you well.
Chinatown is also right, that's a last resort move, not an opening move. Save those little duckies.
Might even think about opening a separate Roth IRA to put the funds in.
Good luck. You make your own luck.
Get back in the saddle in a better, newer Company.

Milk it for everything you can. We keep paying more and more to those idiots in government and we get less and less out of them every year. Where's the free ride for the working man?

    bzinger and Nordiques Thank this.

If you like hauling cars stick with that just don't go back to that company in case there may be another lay off.
