Good point, NM .... but here in the states, we actually PAY for it ourselves, in the long run. I don't know y'all's laws.

Just wishing the O/P well, however it turns.

Nordiques and Big Don Thank this.

Most of you obviously don't understand that this is the dark secret of the union carhaul world. Guys on the bottom of the board get laid off in slow times every year. Depending on how the economy is going, and the retirement rate at his local, as less senior driver may face this for several years before he moves up the seniority list enough to avoid the layoff. And in bad years he may well be off the board more than he's on it.

WHAT FREE RIDE? And why the hell SHOULD we get a free ride?

Pretty much true in any type of union job.

Not knowing where you live I can say this. There are many companies hiring all over the USA that run in and out of Canada. If you want to work. It's out there. Who knows you may find a permanent gig you like better. Good luck. Sucks they did it the way they did. Knowing how they did it makes me think you may be better off elsewhere. Also there's a Facebook group. Autotransporteverything that if you post what your looking for you may get several offers.

I thinks he lives in Quebec. Do Canadians have that great benefit of paying healthy people to not work?
